What’s Your Why

What does it take to leap; to jump into the unknown?

A simple decision.

Decisions, however, can be difficult. So the question becomes why?

Why do you want to lose the weight? Why do you want to make more money? Why are you studying for that next test? What is the result you are seeking?


I used to be involved with a network marketing company. Even though I wasn’t successful with it, there were many things I learned in my time with the company including the importance of having a strong why.

Your why will help keep you going when it seems everything is working against you. It is the reason you get up 30 minutes earlier to workout. It is the reason you stick to your budget so you can get out of debt. It is the reason you continue to study for that test.

Once you know your why, remind yourself of it daily. Put it on the mirror in your bathroom. Set a daily reminder on your phone. Make it the last thing you think of before you fall asleep and the first thing you think of when you wake.

When you feel like giving up, remind yourself why you are doing it. Winning the war first starts in the mind. To win the first battle, figure out why you are choosing to fight.


As I was looking for a featured song, I ran across this gem. It’s been a while since I’ve heard this song but “Stand” by Rascal Flatts will inspire you to keep pushing forward.
